If your opener is not working you will be told by many companies that you need to spend $500 dollars on a brand new garage door opener when that is not the truth at all.  Many times especially during weather changes such as summer to fall especially it causes the mechanical parts of your opener or garage door to break down.  You might just have a gear bad which to replace that would be a lot less expensive then replacing the whole operator.

How does your door operate?  Here at Garage Door Repairs believe in preventive servicing.  When a garage door breaks or an operator breaks it usually could have been prevented with the proper attention given to the door.  A loose nut or bolt could end up costing hundreds or even thousands of dollars if it’s not noticed or taken care of.

When we’re called to your house we inspect the whole door to make sure it’s working properly.  If your door is not working like it should it could be a number of things such as the: torsion springs, extension springs, brackets, rollers, angles, hinges, bottom brackets, top brackets, lift handles, seals, cable drums, cables, locks, bearings, plates, etc.

Proper Up-Keep: If you don’t maintain good up-keep on your door it can really cost you big bucks in the long run.  There are two major things to keep your eye on concerning your garage door. 1. Are the rollers. When the rollers aren’t rolling smoothly then it will cost under stress on the door and the operator.  2. Are your springs.  Your springs whether they’re torsion springs or extension spring are the part of the system that do all the work.  If the springs aren’t set correctly or are off-balance it can cause tremendous damage to your door and your operator.
