Thawing frozen foods in the fridge helps cool the fridge as they defrost.

Position refrigerator away from direct sunlight or appliances that emulate heat such as oven.

Keep freezer full but not overloaded. Just give around 1 inch of space for air to circulate.

Avoid having an empty refrigerator as the motor tend to keep running as there is nothing to hold the cold they generate. Put a couple of containers filled with water to remedy this situation.
